be-our-guest-1

Be Our Guest is one of the most highly sought after restaurants in Magic Kingdom at Disney World. Getting dinner reservations is nearly impossible unless you book well in advance. We got our travel agent to book it for us so we were guaranteed a spot.

As a huge Beauty & the Beast fan, I had to dine here.

be-our-guest-2

Stepping inside the Beast’s enchanted castle was definitely a dream come true.

be-our-guest-3

How can you not swoon over being here and having a glimpse of Disney magic? I was super happy to have dinner here.

When it was out reservation time, we went up to the front booths to check in, but they were about 30 minutes behind, so we waited outside until they told us we could go past the main gates.

be-our-guest-5

Once we got to the main gate, we waited a little bit more until they called out names to head on inside.

be-our-guest-4

Through these large beast statues are the 3 different dining areas.

The Grand Ballroom

be-our-guest-6

The Grand Ballroom is iconic  with its high, domed ceiling, chandeliers and snow-laced Gothic arches brings us back to the moment when Belle and Beast have their dance.

I ended up dining in the ballroom and the entire time, I was just in awe.

The West Wing

be-our-guest-11

The West Wing is Beast’s mysterious West Wing study—if you dare—and perhaps you’ll even spy his enchanted rose. Its a dark room and its’ pretty cool to be in.

The beast!

The Castle Gallery

be-our-guest-10

The Castle Gallery has pictures of Belle and Beast as well as large statues of them dancing in the centre of the room.

Dinner Service

be-our-guest-7

No matter which room you are dining in, all 3 have the same menu. With the Disney Dining Plan, we get 1 non-alcoholic drink, 1 entree, and 1 dessert.

be-our-guest-8

I went with unsweetened iced tea as that seemed to be my favourite drink in the Disney Parks. It’s refillable too. M went with a Coke.

be-our-guest-15

As we waited for our entrees to arrive, bread and butter arrives at the table. Pretty standard and nothing that exciting.

Entrees

be-our-guest-16

Grilled Strip Steak with herb butter and pommes frites is what M ordered. The steak was very tough even though it was ordered as a medium rare. The gristle and fat was made this steak very unappetizing and hard to cut through.

It was so bad that they just took it off the bill since they saw we didn’t enjoy it at all.

be-our-guest-17

Roasted Lamb Chop served with potato pave, artichokes, tomato salsa, and a lamb demi-glace. It came with 3 pieces of lamb and it all tasted ok. The potato pave was really good.

Dessert

be-our-guest-18

When it is time for dessert, they roll out the carts and you can choose which dessert you want.

be-our-guest-19

Chocolate Cream Puff is filled with chocolate mousse topped with whipped cream and chocolate. M felt like the dessert got a bit dry as it sat in the display case.

be-our-guest-20

The “Grey Stuff” has a chocolate shell, cookie creme topped Lumiere’s special “grey stuff”. It just tastes like cookies n creme

be-our-guest-21

Before you leave, don’t forget to take a picture of the Beast and also post in front of this glass window. We missed the beast since he was taking a break.

be-our-guest-14

Overall, the restaurant looked amazing, but the food was pretty subpar. If you are a big Beauty & the Beast fan, Be Our Guest is a must since you’ll be able to see a lot of iconic items from the movie.

There are 4 places to find the beloved Dole Whip in Disney World. Dole Whip is a non-dairy soft serve. You can get it in a cup or as a Pineapple float. It’s very popular and has a cult-like following. It was created by Dole back in 1986. You can find it at many dessert shops across North America, but when you’re at the Disney Parks, you have to go get one.

Magic Kingdom – Aloha Isle Refreshments

Aloha-isle-1

To access Aloha Isle, you need to be inside the Magic Kingdom park. It is tucked away in Adentureland near The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

Aloha-isle-2

Their menu is limiting and only have:

  • Pineapple Dole Whip in a cup
  • Pineapple Float
  • Fresh-cut pineapple spears
  • Pineapple juice

We went with the Dole Whip in a cup since I remember in Disney Land’s Tiki Juice Bar that the float was way too sweet.

Polynesian Resort – Pineapple Lanai

pineapple-lani-2

Pineapple Lanai is in the Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and it’s the only resort that will have Dole Whip on premise.

The menu has:

  • Dole Whip Soft-serve pineapple or vanilla or twist
  • Pineapple Float with Vanilla, Pineapple or twist

You can get these with the souvenir tiki bowls or the Tiki Sippers but we didn’t get them since it won’t do us good when we take it back home.

pineapple-lani-1

What I like about their menu is that they have the vanilla and pineapple swirl. It works really well in the floats as it cuts the overly sweet and sourness from the pineapple with the pineapple juice.

When you’re here, you have to do the twist.

Animal Kingdom – Tamu Tamu Refreshments

harambe-market-1

They are located inside Animal Kingdom in the Harambe Village. Their Dole Whip is pretty different. On the menu, they have:

  • Dole Whip soft-serve with coconut rum
  • Pineapple Dole Whip Cup with Dark Rum
  • Pineapple Dole Whip Cup

Rum and dole whip seem like a weird combination, but give it a try if you are curious.

Blizzard Beach Water Park – Frostbite Freddy’s Frozen Freshments

They have:

  • Dole Whip Soft-serve Cone in Orange or Vanilla
  • Dole Whip Soft-serve Cone with Orange swirled with Vanilla

You won’t find the Pineapple dole whip here, but they do have orange and vanilla, which is quite interesting too.

The Jungle Cruise is a short scenic boat tour inside Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland. You get to explore the rivers of Asia, Africa and South America all in under 10 minutes.

FastPass+ is offered here, but we didn’t end up getting it as we had other rides in mind for it. The line up was about 20 minutes, so we decided to just wait as we did have sometime to kill before heading to Big Thunder and Splash Mountain.

jungle-cruise-1

At first, I wasn’t quite sure about this ride, but I found that they Disney cast member did a fantastic job at keeping us entertained. I kept cracking up because of their jokes filled with puns.

It’s not a fast moving ride at all, but I love the small little details they put in each area. If you’re paying attention, you might just notice them.

jungle-cruise-3

Since you are on a boat in the water, you might get a bit wet, but the chances are pretty slim.

jungle-cruise-2

M and I enjoyed the Jungle Cruise ride and I would come back again to hear those corny jokes. I’m pretty sure they staff are scripted to some degree, but it’s all about the delivery right?

It’s a Small World is a classic Disney ride at all Disney Parks around the world. This is one of the longer rides lasting 12 – 15 minutes, where you are on a boat traveling around the world. There are over 300 animatronic dolls in this one ride.

There is FastPass+ offered here, but this lines were not very long. We waited for about 10 minutes, which was pretty good. I would skip it and save the Fastpass+ for another ride.

its-a-small-world-1

If you’ve never been here, you will most likely heard of the song – it’s a small world.

The boat ride takes you from country to country  with a collection of robotic children around the world singing their version of it’s a small world. It’s pretty amazing how this song can easily translate to a wide range of languages.

You will go to places like:

  • Scandinavia
  • The British Isles
  • Western Europe
  • Eastern Europe
  • The Middle East
  • Asia
  • Africa
  • Antarctica
  • South America
  • Australia and the South Pacific Islands

With all these places, no wonder the ride is so long. On the plus side, it’s air conditioned, so it’s a great ride to relax before going back out in the hot Summer Florida sun.

its-a-small-world-2

Overall, it is a classic and you can’t go wrong with it. If it’s your first time going to this ride, don’t miss it.

its-a-small-world-3

Plus, when you end the ride, they know who you are! So crazy how they know its you in that particular boat. I was mind-blown. These little touches are what makes the Disney experience magical.

peter-pans-flight-2

Peter Pan’s Flight is one of the rides that most people are getting FastPass+ for. After looking at some sites, I decided to get a FastPass+ before coming here. The wait was 65 minutes and it seemed pretty crazy for a ride especially if you have children with you.

peter-pans-flight-1

I felt bad for those waiting in line since 65 minutes is a long time.

Peter Pan, Wendy, Michael and John on the bow of a magical pirate ship at Peter Pan's Flight

The ride takes you through a dark journey through London where you view Peter Pan’s journey and seeing familiar faces along the way. If you are a fan of Peter Pan, you will find a lot of nostalgic scenes here.

Peter Pan and Captain Hook sword fight on the mast of a magical pirate ship at Peter Pan's Flight

It was just M and I going on this ride, so it was mind-blowing to see how long people were willing to wait. It kinda reminded me of Ariel’s Under the Sea Journey where it took you through the movie start to finish. Definitely a ride for all ages and isn’t scary at all. M and I felt like we could have skipped this ride and used the FastPass+ for other more thrilling rides.

This ride is great for kids and those who are a huge fan of Peter Pan. You will want to use a FastPass+ to  skip the long line.

frontier-land-wagon-1

Walking around Magic Kingdom in Frontierland, we stopped by this cart for a quick snack. Since we had the Disney dining plan, we were entitled to one snack each per day. I was originally looking for a cart with Turkey legs, but turns out they don’t offer it as a snack item as it is $11.75. Since I didn’t want to spend extra money, we had to settle for Mickey-shaped pretzels and churros.

frontier-land-wagon-2

Mickey Pretzel looks super cute but they didn’t have anymore cheese sauce. When we ate this, it was pretty hard to eat this without any additional flavour. That cheese sauce would have come in handy.

frontier-land-wagon-3

Churro was what I’ve been waiting for. It’s super long, fresh and crisp. Tons of sugar was packed on but I didn’t care. More calories, no problem.

Everyday, we would walk a lot around each park, so I didn’t mind eating a lot.

Liberty-tree-1

Liberty Tree Tavern is located in Liberty Square inside Magic Kingdom. We made reservations ahead of time with our travel agent so we were guaranteed a spot to the restaurants that we wanted to check out.

They do all you can eat dinner buffet.  The food is pretty standard, but it can be modified for those who have certain allergies.

Liberty-tree-2

We checked in when it was our time, but it was very busy, so all reservations were bumped back by 15 minutes. The interior looks pretty cool.

Liberty-tree-7

It feels like we were transported back in time to an 18th century American Inn.

Liberty-tree-3

Dinner is $33 for people over the age of 10 and $19 for those that are 9 and under.

Everyone gets to share:

  • Declaration salad
  • Patriots platter
  • Johnny Appleseed’s Tart

Liberty-tree-4

I went with Unsweetened Iced Tea with Lemon and M got his Coke. It was a super hot day, so we were so happy there is unlimited refills. Our server was very good at refilling our drinks without us asking.

Liberty-tree-5

Warn dinner rolls arrived with honey butter.

Liberty-tree-6

Declaration Salad is shared among the table and there is tossed mixed greens with house-made dressing. It was nice to have a salad that’s refreshing compared to the carb heavy meals we had earlier in the day.

Liberty-tree-9

The Patriot’s Platter arrived with mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans on the first plate. All these sides were really good.

Liberty-tree-8

On the second plate, there was roasted turkey breast, pot roast, tavern ham, and stuffing. The turkey was a bit dry, but the ham and pot roast were really good.

Liberty-tree-10

Of course, there was also a big bow of gravy too. This was good to put on the turkey to counteract the dryness.

Liberty-tree-11

Johnny Appleseed’s Tart has baked apples, cinnamon, cranberries on top of a pastry shell. It is also served with vanilla ice cream. I wasn’t a fan of this dessert as it was very sweet.

Overall, the meal was pretty good compared to the other casual dining restaurants in Disney World. If you are a large eater, a buffet like this will be worth the money.

Pecos-Bill-1

We were in Magic Kingdom Park and needed to find a good quick service restaurant as part of our Disney meal plan, so we went to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe in Frontierland. It was highly recommended as you do get your moneys worth.

It’s near Splash Mountain and Big Thunder, so in between waiting for our FastPass times, we grabbed a quick lunch. They serve Mexican food with an American twist.

Pecos-Bill-2

It was busy for lunch but the staff here are so efficient to get people through the lines to get eating.

Pecos-Bill-3

They have a salad bar too if you want to be a bit healthier.

Pecos-Bill-4

With our dining plan, M and I were able to get 2 drinks, 2 desserts, and 2 entrees for our quick service meal.

Pecos-Bill-13

With our MagicBands, we paid for our meal instantly and we had 16 more quick service meals to go. Anything extra would be charged to the room or you would pay in cash/card.

Pecos-Bill-5

After we got our food, we had to scour for a table. It was busy, but people eat pretty quickly, so there was always a table open. There is seating outside too.

Pecos-Bill-6

The best way to maximize what we originally paid for the Disney meal plan is to always order the most expensive items on the menu.

Pecos-Bill-7

Taco Burger is topped with seasoned ground beef and pepper jack cheese and served with a side of tortilla chips. Imagine a sloppy joe.

Pecos-Bill-8

Fajita Platter with barbacoa beef and chicken with cilantro, rice, beans, and tortilla. The platter has a lot of food.

Pecos-Bill-11

The tortillas were wrapped up in aluminum to keep it warm.

Pecos-Bill-12

I took a little bit of everything and made little tacos. The food was good and filling.

Pecos-Bill-10

For our drinks, I got water to stay hydrated. That Orlando sun is fierce. M got the strawberry lemonade with a cute Mickey straw.

Pecos-Bill-9

Churro bites with chocolate sauce. You get 8 pieces per order, but I found these to be a bit limp and stale. Not as fresh as the other churros in the parks.

Overall, the food is ok. Don’t expect too much from the Disney Parks food as it’s mostly fast food made to serve pass amounts of people
