Auchentoshan is a Single Malt Scotch Malt. Founded by Irish refugees in 1825 on the outskirts of Glasgow, Auchentoshan is one of the last active distilleries in the Lowlands.
This particular bottle is a limited release single malt from Auchentoshan that’s a product of their ‘New Malt Order’ cocktail competition. You can find this at private liquor stores in BC.
Blends created by 12 bartenders from five countries were brought together to create The Bartender’s Blend, using whiskies spanning five decades (the youngest of which were 6 years old). That includes whiskies matured in ex-Laphroaig casks, rum casks, red wine barriques, German oak casks and American oak casks.
You’ll taste dried apricot, milk chocolate, honey and green tobacco leaf. As you finish the drink, it will keep you nice and warm.
You can make yourself an Old Fashioned using:
- 1.5 oz Auchentoshan
- 1 sugar cube cube
- splash of water
- 2 dashes of bitters
- Orange rind
- Ice
